The IMPORTANCE of Communication like NEVER before.
What a YEAR! This past year has been indeed challenging due to Covid 19 causing our province and our sector to pause, to reflect, to reframe and resolve to overcome. Committing to build stronger, healthier worlds of learning and play not just during Covid yet for years to come.
During the recovery phase, it is and was important to understand that “IT was NOT business as usual”, as the directives and advice provided by the Department of Education & Early Childhood Development and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health remained in place until the risk was evaluated and effectively controlled. Wee College took the re-entry seriously and strived to ensure the health and well-being for families and valued employees as did our entire sector.
During these unprecedented times, our practices and policies were strengthened to always communicated with respect, kindness, and compassion. It was and continues to be of great importance to convey to parents and co-workers that these practices allow our service to remain functional in the interest of all.
Wee pivoted to accessing different platforms to communicate timely with all families and educators to ensure effective, up to date information was shared. Through our Wee College Guardian, we developed a parent/educator communication system to promote better understanding as to the protocols and practises and the overall well being of the children entrusted in our care. Thereby, enabling us all to keep the connection between home and the centre strong.
Wee College is grateful to all our owners/operators, families, the dedicated educators and of course our wee ones for creating the normalcy, where laughter, fun and learning live on.
